Istanbul Policy Review (IPR) is an international double-blind peer-reviewed Open Access journal, published twice a year from 2022 by Transnational Press London on behalf of Istanbul Topkapi University. Istanbul Policy Review (IPR), inspired by the nature and geopolitics of its home city Istanbul, aims to bridge social science communities across disciplines and continents with a view to fostering scholarship and debate with the broadest possible audience. The IPR has a particular focus on interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary work that pushes the boundaries of current approaches and welcomes both applied and theoretical research. IPR intends to grow into a forum for innovative review, reflection and discussion informed by recent and ongoing international, social science research. It provides a home for work that asks questions in new ways and/or employs original methods to classic problems and whose insights have implications across the disciplines and beyond the academy. Hence IPR strives to accommodate policy debates informing local, regional and global decision making in economics, politics, society, culture, arts and science. The journal publishes regular editions featuring rigorous, peer-reviewed research articles that reflect its international and heterodox scope. IPR also publishes special issues devoted to specific themes that the Editorial Office typically commissions from an external Editorial Adviser who acts as curator and guest editor. Istanbul Policy Review (IPR) is founded in 2022 and publishes two issues a year in May and November. The inaugural issue was released in November 2023.
